ABOUT “THE BUDMAN”
I was born in the 40’s, raised in the 50’s, grew up in the 60’s, survived the 70’s, was crazy in the 80’s, blew through the 90’s, and here I am LOVING the 21st century…
I am not a DEMOCRAT, nor a REPUBLICAN, I AM AN AMERICAN… and AS an American, I have the right to have my own opinions, right or wrong, and I have the freedom to express them. I am proud to say I have served my country, have different views on different issues, and will respect YOU, if you respect ME, and the LAWS OF MY COUNTRY. I do not believe in ANY preferential treatment, be it for race, religion, gender or wealth. To live in peace in harmony, we must treat ALL “law-abiding” people, as “equals”, and not pander to wrongs done by our “forefathers”. We must accept and be accountable for our OWN behavior towards others, and NOT be apologetic for other’s “wrong-doings”. If you were raised right, you’ll KNOW what to do, if you weren’t, then YOU WILL NEED TO LEARN…
In my life, I’ve LIVED, LOVED, LAUGHED and CRIED, and learned they ALL are important…
I’ve tried to learn ALL I COULD, about ALL I COULD…
I’ve appreciated ALL the beauty that I have been exposed to in my life…

Budman,
You are a sage man. Stay on course and just keep thinking logically…that is neither consevative or liberal…it is simply logical…a simple science that most people have forgotten to utilize…except for you and myself…lolololol.

Budman,
Colin Powell’s late hour endorsement of Senator Obama is nothing less than a job application for the unemployed general. Talk about diametrically opposed view points on the decision to evade Iraq and subsequent strategies. As recently as a few weeks ago, General Powell stated that the mistake in going to Iraq was not in the decision to go, but rather in the decision to send insufficient troop levels. Colin Powell’s strength has always been his decisive nature to evaluated the situation and formulate a plan of action with confidence. He has clearly demonstrated a lack of strength with this act and unquestionably calls his character into play. Perhaps you could have waited a few days before announcing your endorsement to ensure you backed the person you believe most likely to become our next president. If I may be so bold as to suggest November 5, 2008 as a potential alternative to October 19, 2008. After all, what are a few days between friends? If I may ask the indulgence of feminine audience for a moment, Colin Powel you have faced down many a foe in the name of freedom. You have stood tall when most would coward, but your timing and lack of heart can only be described as “Wishy-Washy. You have marked your reputation with this blunder and seriously need to consider the phrase to “Man-up”. You mock Senator John McCain and his choice of a Vice-Presidential candidate in Governor Sara Palin by saying that she lacked experience to hold the Presidential Office. Shame, Shame Mr. Powell, did your bother to compare their resumes? Experience clearly leans towards Governor Palin over Senator Obama. Furthermore, Senator McCain was decisive in his choice while you sat back. The way I see it politically speaking, there is but one singular category where Senator Obama has more experience than Govenor Palin. That category is … Dare I say it? Yes race. Respectfully, I would suggest that your actions were either motivated in part and/or in whole by your desire for employment and/or the race factor.

MR. HAPPY,
I concur with your assessment, and am ALSO disappointed with Mr. Powell. I gave him more credit than what we BOTH see as OBVIOUS… As the clock keeps ticking, I am shaking my head more and more in disbelief… THANKS FOR STOPPING BY, THE BUDMAN

Budman,
Your thoughts…
What in the world were they thinking? Senator Obama’s campaigners registered to vote in Ohio. Franklin County, Ohio has reported that 13 Obama staffers with no ties to Ohio registered to vote and that 5 of the 13 Obama staffers have already voted. Franklin County is reporting that as many as 40 Obama staffers have registered. Furthermore, there have been reports that non-residential college students registering to vote in Ohio through “Vote from Home”. Some are saying that there may be more than 700 Obama staffers currently work in Ohio. I’ve heard it said, where there is smoke there is fire. Here it seems that the forest has already burnt and that no one really cares. I believe the time has come to formulate a national registry inclusive of a secure method of identification such as finger printing. I would have thought that a Harvard Education include basic mathematics. Enough is enough already… One person…One Vote.

MR. HAPPY,
You can logically only reach ONE conclusion. There is really NO DESIRE to fix the “broken wheel”. The “nation registry” with “fingerprint ID”, AND “PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP”, seems like a “NO-BRAINER” to you and me, because WE are on the “up and up”. My mom always told me “If you’ve done nothing WRONG, you’ve got nothing to WORRY about”… I for one, don’t worry about security at the airport finding something illegal, I don’t spend every day worrying about getting arrested for something I didn’t do, I have no problem with showing my license or I.D. for ANY reason, because I am a GOOD-LIVING person, and try my best to follow my country’s rules and regulations. I don’t feel the “NEED TO CHEAT”, to succeed at something, and I try to have faith in, HONESTY and “THE GREAT AMERICAN WAY”, as naive as that may be. It is MY opinion, that THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT WORRY ABOUT SUCH THINGS ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE… and that’s IT! I wish everyone felt that way, but accept that some DON’T… Thanks again for opining, THE BUDMAN

Budman,
Got another hot button for you…
In 50 years I thought I had seen it all or for the most part grasped the general concept of things. Now a newspaper is refusing to report the news because it may be potentially harmful to a candidate. Journalism at its finest I guess. They reportedly have audio recordings of the event attend by Senator Obama that was highly critical of Israel in 2001. There really can be no denying who said what so let’s hear the tape. How bad can it be? Could it adversely impact the Jewish vote? I personally cannot comprehend how anyone of Jewish faith could come to vote for Senator Obama with his history, but then again everyone is entitled to make their own judgments and mistakes.
Anyhow onto another topic, can anyone explain how giving a tax refund to those who have failed to pay taxes is not a social entitlement program (a.k.a. welfare)? I have not read the details of the “Obama Taxarama Program” and I am failing to see the difference. Frankly I’m feeling a little embarrassed about having to ask the question. If anyone out there knows please drop me a line. While you’re at it let me know what color the emperor’s new clothes were.

Hey Budman,
I just had to write…
It is rumored that almost 98% of black Americans voted for Senator OBama clearly demonstrating a racial overtone in the ballot box. White Americans however did not vote based upon racial lines as demonstrated by the electoral voting. Most White Americans dispersed their votes based upon a belief that one or the other candidate was more qualified to lead this great country. If another racial or religious group block voted to this degree cries of discrimination would abound. Investigations and hearings would be had. Yet their behavior is excused based upon what? Could it be their color? If so, then who is really practicing discrimination the group or those evaluating their conduct? I would respectfully suggest both.
Oprah Winfrey refused to lend her show to politics by interviewing Sarah Palin before the election. If Sarah Palin were black and Oprah was white would America stand for such treatment? Oprah somehow has suggested that her support of Senator OBama was outside her studio and in no way lent the popularity of her show to OBama’s campaign. Does anyone with half a brain believe her? Let us remember that Oprah attended religious services at the same church and heard the same sermons that Senator Obama disavowed.
Young Americans were mesmerized by Senator OBama’s smooth talking, non content based, and passionate rhetoric. I must admit that he is a truly gifted speaker as was President Clinton, but in doing so I jest simultaneously. I believe Senator OBama’s campaign promises like those of President Clinton will disappear in a blink of an eye. President Clinton heralded as a lead of change, but alas his promises were false. Where will President OBama draw the funding necessitated to support his programs? I am one of the many that shall be effected by the OBama Taxarama Plan and I have long term financial obligations; inclusive of, a mortgage, two (2) car loans, and increasing property taxes. The added burden of a higher tax base will cause my savings to dwindle and mandate that I work beyond a normal retirement age, for what? To support those who refuse to give an honest day’s work. I have work two (2) jobs on and off for almost thirty (30) years. I have severed my countries military for six (6) of those years and have worked two (2) jobs non-stop for the last twelve (12) years. My family life suffered through those years. I missed birthdays, weddings, holidays and so much more to make a better life. I was not able to enjoy the rewards of my endeavors, but held onto the dream of retiring in comfort. America the land of opportunity where art thou?

I took the liberty to re-post you “reply” both on the “OPRAH DOUBLE-TALKER”, and the “JOE THE PLUMBER” articles, figuring it would reach more people. “The Land Of Opportunity” seems rarely applied to the hard worker, but rather to the LAZY, UNGRATEFUL, “GUB-MENT” HANDOUT LOSERS… I wish I saw “CHANGE” in the air… Thanks again, THE BUDMAN

Het Budman,
In response to your email…
While the soon to be First Lady proclaimed herself to have never experienced pride in her country young men and women stood the line and fought the fight protecting her right to do so. Some have given an arm, some a leg, but they have all given of themselves. The first or foremost program the new president should address is the needs of our injured and fallen brothers and sisters. The facilities and programs are sorely outdated and tearfully laughable. Start here Mr. President let it begin with them.
In other areas….
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had not wasted a moment’s breath as he has begun challenging President Elect Obama. He has announced that he will move part of his missile base east to target the American Missile Defense System in Europe.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has responded to President Elect Obama’s statement of nuclear denial by threatening to attack U.S. interests and Israeli if the U.S. exercises military action. The Iranian Parliament has begun criticizing President Elect Obama as it appears the honeymoon last but a few days.
Hamas wants an audience with the soon to be president too. Remember you opened the door and agreed to engage with terrorist regimes. As previously stated it is my belief that Russia and the Middle East are about to erupt.
I heard President Elect Obama’s first press conference and loved his non-committal nature to where the line is drawn being the upper and middle class. It seems to be dropping lower and lower daily. Just how low will he go is anyone’s guess? The taxation required to support unilateral health care and the vast number of socialistic programs he has planned shall be staggering. The only economical group that shall remain untouched by his plans are those who do not pay taxes and why not they all voted for him. I am willing to wager that so many who voted for this less than qualified individual shall come to regret and deny their decision in the future weeks and months to come.

Budman,
Rules, What Sticking Rules? William J. Lynn a lobbyist for Raytheon chosen for Deputy Secretary of the Defense violates Obama’s Ethics Rules stating that an ex-lobbyists in his administration cannot work on issues they lobbied on for two years. Does ink dry truly dry in less than 48 hours? Question: When does a rule become a rule? Answer: Only when it is enforced. Let the games begin… What say those who voted for Obama? Is Guantanamo subject to the same Sunny Side Up – Sunny Side Down routine?
Perhaps we should also discuss his cabinet choices and how they represent the out with the old and in the new Obama approach? Give me a break!
